Russia ratified the financial agreements
The duma ratified the financial agreements of the ENPI programmes on 16th July 2010.
Ratification of the agreements enables the implementation of the ENPI programmes: the Joint Managing Authority of the Karelia programme starts contracting of the projects as soon as the Monitoring Committee has comfirmed the project selection of the first call for proposals and the second call for proposals will be opened in autumn 2010 as planned.

Innovative Regions in the context of EU Eastern external border
Each year NEEBOR organises an annual conference in a different region
in order to provide its members, partners, and neighbours with
specific issues and related EU policies. This year the network plans
to bring together innovation policy and external relations of the EU.
The theme of the annual conference is “Innovative regions in the
context of EU Eastern external border.” The conference is structured
into five thematic blocks dedicated to research, development, and
innovation and their perception from European, national, regional,
local, academic, and private sector perspectives. Indeed, the
conference aims to interlink distant areas, which are of a great
development potential for NEEBOR members and neighbours.

The Concept Notes of the first Call for Proposals evaluated
Altogether 59 concept notes were submittted to the JMA during the first phase of the first call for proposals. 51 concept notes passed the administrative check.
The Selection Committee evaluated the concept notes on its meeting on 21st April. In order to be invited to submit a grant application the concept note needed to get at least 12 points on relevance (of a maximum of 15) and an overall score of at least 30 (of 50). 18 of the concept notes passed the evaluation and are invited to the second phase of the call. Some of the concept notes not selected were, however, considered to be of a high level, but more relevant from the point of view of some other theme.
The grant applications are submitted to the JMA on 17th June at 3 pm. the latest. The decisions of the applications are to be made in September.

Annual Work Programme for grants 2010
Karelia ENPI CBC Programme's Joint Monitoring Committee has approved the indicative work programme for grants 2010 in its first meeting. According to the Work Programme two Calls for Proposals will be launched in 2010.
Call for Proposals closed
The first phase of the first call for proposals closed on 17th March. Within the deadline 56 concept notes were submitted to the JMA.

Even the announcements are moderated by the JMA, publishing of a proposition isn't an opinion in favor of the idea. Readerss are supposed to judge the quality and relevance of the idea and the organisation by themselves.
